Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 1, 2026
AHAM is built on trust. We treat health and emotional data as the most sensitive information a family can share with us. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we safeguard it, and the controls you have over it.
1. Who we are
AHAM (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides an elderly wellbeing and mental health platform consisting of a mobile app, web experience, and supporting services. This Privacy Policy applies to all AHAM products, websites, and services that link to it.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Account details: name, email, phone number, password, profile photo.
- Family & elder profiles: relationship, date of birth, language, location, and care preferences you choose to add.
- Wellbeing inputs: mood logs, journal entries, check-in answers, and messages exchanged with caregivers or care coordinators.
- Payment details: billing name, address, and the last four digits of your card. Full card numbers are processed by our PCI-DSS compliant payment partners and are never stored on AHAM servers.
2.2 Information we collect automatically
- Device & usage data: device model, OS version, app version, IP address, crash reports, and feature usage events.
- Cookies & similar technologies: used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure performance.
2.3 Information from third parties
If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information you authorize. Care partners or clinicians you connect with may share session notes with your consent.
3. How we use information
- Provide, personalize, and improve the AHAM experience for elders and their families.
- Match elders with appropriate caregivers, therapists, and wellbeing programs.
- Send essential service messages (appointments, reminders, security alerts).
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or safety risks.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
4. Legal basis for processing
We process personal data on the basis of your consent, the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating a safe and reliable service, and compliance with applicable law (including India’s DPDP Act and, where relevant, the EU GDPR).
5. How we share information
We do not sell personal data. We share limited information only with:
- Care providers you explicitly connect to your elder’s circle of care.
- Service providers (cloud hosting, analytics, customer support, payments) under strict data protection agreements.
- Authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect someone’s safety.
- Successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with continued protection of your data.
6. Data security
We use TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, role-based access controls, and audited cloud infrastructure. Sensitive health information is segregated and access is logged. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication on your AHAM account.
7. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed to deliver the service and meet legal obligations. Account data is retained while your account is active and for up to 24 months after deletion for tax, audit, and dispute resolution. You can request earlier deletion (see Section 9).
8. International transfers
AHAM is operated from India. If you access the service from another country, your data may be transferred to and processed in India and other countries where our service providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required.
9. Your rights and choices
You can:
- Access, correct, or download your personal data from in-app settings.
- Withdraw consent or delete your account at any time.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@ahamcare.com. We respond within 30 days.
10. Children
AHAM is intended for adults (18+) acting on behalf of themselves or their elder family members. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
