Built for how life feels, not just how it functions.

AHAM is an initiative focused on addressing the growing need for mental and emotional well-being support for the elderly. The intent is to create a compassionate, technology-enabled ecosystem that helps seniors stay mentally engaged, supported, and connected, while also enabling families and caregivers to better understand and respond to their needs.

Our Story

Founded in 2026 in India, AHAM was born from a deeply personal realisation: the people who raised us often face their hardest years alone. In a country where intergenerational bonds have always been the bedrock of family life, modern mobility — children moving cities for work, migrating abroad, chasing opportunity — has quietly frayed those threads. For ageing parents left behind, loneliness is not an emotion; it is a risk factor as serious as any chronic condition.

AHAM was created to rebuild that connection at scale. We started with a simple question: what if families could sense emotional shifts in their parents the way a fitness tracker senses a heartbeat? What if the signs of declining purpose, fading mood, or creeping isolation could surface early — not as alarms, but as gentle, actionable nudges?

Today, AHAM serves Indian families and NRIs across the world as a calm, continuous companion for ageing parents. Two connected apps — one for the elder, one for the family sponsor — read daily emotional and behavioural patterns and turn them into insights that keep families close, even when continents apart.

Mission

This initiative is driven by a deep belief that elderly mental health is often under-recognised and under-served, and that technology — when applied thoughtfully — can play a meaningful role in improving dignity, companionship, and quality of life in later years.

Vision

A world where ageing is approached with the same preventive care we give to childhood development. Where every ageing parent has a continuous emotional safety net woven by the people who love them. Where loneliness is caught early, purpose is protected fiercely, and families stay meaningfully connected across any distance.

Why India, Why Now

India is home to over 140 million people aged 60 and above — a number projected to triple by 2050. Unlike Western markets where institutional eldercare is common, Indian families traditionally care for parents at home. But rapid urbanisation, nuclear-family shifts, and global migration have disrupted that model without replacing it. The result: a generation of elders who are materially secure but emotionally underserved.

AHAM addresses this uniquely Indian context. Our platform respects cultural norms — family involvement is central, not clinical intervention. We designed for lower-tech comfort levels, larger font sizes, voice-friendly inputs, and interfaces that feel warm rather than medical. And we built for the reality of NRI families: children in Singapore, London, or California who need to stay connected to parents in Kolkata, Kochi, or Kanpur.

The Team

Aditi Senchaudhuri — Founder

Aditi brings over 30 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Intelligent Automation, and AI-led transformation across Healthcare, Banking, Insurance, Telecom, and Retail domains globally, including Australia, APAC, the UK, and the US.

Over the course of her career, she has led large-scale transformation programs, built automation and engineering capability at scale, and driven improvements in service quality, operational efficiency, and customer experience. She is now applying this experience to design and build AHAM, combining AI, automation, and human-centered design to create practical, accessible, and scalable mental care solutions for the elderly and their support ecosystem.

Our Name

Aham (अहम्) is Sanskrit for "I" or "self" — the innermost identity that persists even as bodies age and memories fade. It is a reminder that behind every data point we surface is a person with a story, a history, and a family that loves them. Our name keeps us honest: we are not monitoring elders; we are honouring selves.
